Every organization would want that it should succeed in getting maximum mileage out of its enterprise safety program. This objective is not hard to achieve provided that the right measures are taken and followed sincerely.

Here is what an organization can do to get the most out of its enterprise security:

• To begin with, the formation of the enterprise safety program must happen as per a sequence that first has people followed by policy and technology. This sequence is basically determined by factors like job functionality and business needs. No matter what policies a business follows, this sequence should allow it to create a secure foundation. However, if the priorities have not been identified, the sequence may vary and it may first have technology followed by policy and people. However, what may happen in this case is that security personnel may have to spend more time on research & support and they may stop pursuing the main business objective. Such a situation can easily be avoided if security checks are conducted diligently and all the regulations are adhered to.

• Once the basic security policies are in place, some extra steps can be taken to further strengthen an existing enterprise security setup. To this end, an organization can try using mobile security software that is supported by its network security. Device locking could be done via a pass code a device must get locked automatically through the auto-locking feature when it is inactive. Data too should be wiped off automatically after a certain number of failed attempts.

• The encryption of a compete device and specific data is also known to assist an organization in bolstering its enterprise safety. Limiting device access or access to platform features such as app installation is another ploy that can come in very handy in making an enterprise safety program more powerful and effective.

• Yet another way of working on enterprise safety is that an organization can get configurations done in specific ways and users must not be given the liberty to change them.

• Organizations need to understand that irrespective of whichever MDM (master data management) toolset they choose, they can get it integrated to their main enterprise security setup especially if they have SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) and have all their activities monitored and analyzed comprehensively.

The techniques mentioned above are bound to yield positive results but they may prove to be more effective if the employees in an organization do not remain ill-informed and are updated of every little development on the enterprise security front.
