We all have music systems in our home. Some of us use those amazing Bose earphones for listening to music. Some of us have got an iPod. Some just love to listen to music on their laptops. While we might want to listen to music differently, there is one thing that we all share – our love for music. So, what do you do when you buy a car? Well, buy a DVD player of course. DVD players do not really cost a lot and are quite affordable. However, you might want to know all about car DVD players to ensure that you buy one that you need. After all, it isn’t a great idea to buy a car DVD player that you may not be happy with.
So, what do you need to know when it comes to buying a car DVD player?
It is important that you have a complete understanding of DVD players and do not end up making a wrong choice.
• In accordance to the international DIN standards, a DVD receiver unit should be 7 inches long across the front and 2 inches high. If the receiver’s 7 inches long and 4 inches high then it is known as a ‘double DIN receiver’.
• It is always better to purchase a car DVD player which has a touchscreen front display as this helps the user to easily control the player and use the features as compared to the normal buttons.
• Try to purchase a DVD player whose screen retracts back into the receiver when not in use. This allows the user to watch the DVD and also play them on the same single-DIN unit and also keeps the monitor out of view of thieves in lonely areas.
• A detachable faceplate would be an even better option as one can remove the faceplate of the player when the car is parked somewhere and keep it in the glove compartment. This helps you keep your car safe from a break-in.
• A car DVD player which has an in-built GPS would help you with a live map and verbal instructions with the help of your car’s speakers.
• You can choose from a variety of control options such as buttons, touchscreen, remote control, smartphone application and controls mounted on the steering wheel to control the player without actually touching it.
• When purchasing the DVD player, make sure that it is compatible with the format in which your audio and video collections are or else they will not play in your player at all.
Choose a car DVD player that works for you and see the driving experience just becoming a whole lot better!
