No Computer Display: Repair Tips for Perth PC Users

It may be essential to take your computer to a repair shop in Perth when all you’re seeing is a blank screen, but it is not always be necessary. There are times when the issue of “no display” can be resolved through some simple troubleshooting procedures.

Try the following steps, as suggested by Computer Hope to narrow down the possible causes – if not to resolve the problem – of not getting any display,

• Your monitor may be turned off. Hard as it may be to believe, this is one of the most common causes of why a computer shows nothing more than a blank screen. Check if the LED indicator light is lit; if not, press the power button to turn it on.

• Your monitor could be unplugged, or your power strip or UPS may be switched off. The power cord may also have gotten loose. Assuming that everything is properly plugged in but you still see a blank screen, then check if your monitor is connected properly to your CPU.

• Adjust your monitor’s brightness and contrast, since it may be set to the lowest level giving you the impression that there is no display.

• Your computer could be on “suspend mode” if your monitor’s LED indicator light is orange or blinking. Move the mouse around or press the space bar to wake it up.

• Connect your monitor to another working CPU. If there’s a display, then your monitor is working; if not, then it’s could be the reason you’re not getting any display.

• You can also connect your CPU to another working monitor. If your computer turns on normally and shows a display, then it can be assumed that the problem is your first monitor.

You can also turn off your monitor and computer completely, even unplug them. Also, disconnect your monitor from your CPU, reconnect, plug them again, and then turn them on. Re-establishing your connections often works wonders.

If you’re certain that the monitor that you’re using is working, and if your computer manages to turn on, but you’re still not getting any display, then it could be that the problem is caused by other issues like a malfunctioning video card. In such cases, you may want to have the services of an IT expert to resolve the issue.
