Use Crane Cell Portable In Engineering

Crane cell portable - resistive parametric converter, which converts the deformation of a rigid body caused by the applied mechanical stress thereto, into an electric signal.

Resistive strain gauge is attached to the base with its sensing element. The principle of strain measurement using strain gauge transducer is that the strain gage resistance changes. Effect of change in resistivity of a metallic conductor under hydrostatic compression (hydrostatic pressure) was discovered in 1856 by Lord Kelvin in 1881.

In its present form the strain transducer is designed as a strain gage sensor is made of gage material (wire, foil, etc.) attached by an adhesive (glue, cement) in the investigated parts. To attach the sensor to an electrical circuit in the strain gages are terminal conductors. Some design for ease of installation of strain gauges have a substrate disposed between the sensing element and the part in the study, and a protective member disposed over the sensing element.

The most striking example of the use of strain gauges are scales. Strain gauges are equipped with scales of most Russian and foreign manufacturers of scales. Scales on the load cells are used in various industries: ferrous and non-ferrous metallurgy, chemical, construction, food and other industries.

The principle of operation of electronic scales is to measure weight force acting on the load cell, by converting the changes occurring, for example strain into a proportional electrical output.

Widespread strain gauges due to a variety of advantages:

- Small size and weight;

- Low inertia, which allows to use strain gauges as under static and dynamic measurement;

- Have a linear characteristic;

- Enable the remote and in many parts of measurements;

- Way to install them on the studied item does not require complex devices and does not distort the strain field study details.

Their disadvantage consists in temperature sensitivity can be compensated in most cases.

Most common type of device Bonded wire strain gauge is shown in Figure 2. On thin strip of paper or lacquer film is pasted laid zigzag thin wire with a diameter of 0.02-0.05 mm. To the ends of the wire are attached excretory copper conductors. Top converter is covered by a layer of varnish, and sometimes sealed with paper or felt.

The sensor is usually mounted so that its longest side is oriented in a direction of the measured force in crane cell portable. Such a transducer being adhered to the test piece, it perceives the deformation of the surface layer. Thus, the natural input value Bonded converter is the deformation of the surface layer parts to which it is glued, and the output-resistance change transducer proportional to this strain. Usually affixed sensors are used a lot more unbonded.
