6 Instagram Communities Worth Checking Out

The goal of every Instagram user is to gain exposure by getting people to notice your work. There’s no point in posting fabulous pictures with creative use of filters if there’s no one there or willing to take a look at them.

There are a variety of ways to increase your visibility on Instagram. But one of the easiest ways is an effective use of time through involvement in select communities that follow your photography interests.

There are many Instagram communities to participate in. In fact, there’s so many that it’s a bit of a challenge to figure out which ones are the best. All the communities have some benefit, but you want to be select in the communities you join. You don’t want to join too many communities because you’re not going to be able to offer a good level of involvement in each if you’ve joined too many.

Here’s a list of 6 Instagram communities work checking out, as well as a little bit of information about each:

1. Insta_pick_bw

2. Photooftheday

3. Monart

4. Contestgram

5. Ampt

6. All shots

Insta_pic_bw

This community is for the black and white photo enthusiast. It has daily features and contests. Photo topics in this community vary and include close-ups of inanimate and animate objects. Some of the pictures feature a creative use of filters where certain parts of the image are in color to make it stand out from its background.

Photooftheday

Founded by creative art director and designer Luca Anania, this community is one of Instagram’s largest. Every day one winner is selected. Photos are generally full color and feature a variety of topics, locations and situations.

Monart

As the name implies, this community is for monochromes only. Photos in this community feature a creative use of filters and zoom-in and outs, as well as interesting angles. It doesn’t appear to have daily posts very often but there’s always something new every couple of days.

Contestgram

This is an Instagram-based photo contest app that’s free to use. Users are encouraged to log into their Instagram account to look at the assortment of photos posted every day and share the ones that they like the best. Users can also submit their photos and see how many people like them. Besides looking at an amazing array of photos, discovering interesting people in the Contestgram community, there are also periodic prize contests.

Ampt

This is a global network of mobile artists, photographers and videographers. There’s a little bit of everything here. Members are sometimes featured too. This community is also on EyeEm so there’s a wider base of creative’s to connect with.

All shots

A series of vibrant pictures from people all over the world. Every day there’s a Shot of the Day taken by one of the members. Of course, the goal is to be featured on one of the pages for maximum exposure.

All these community sites provide a way to connect with others who have similar interests, and with permission, you might even be able to print some of their Print Instagram photos.
